Vietnamese Smoking Pipe and Thuốc Lào
The custom of smoking Thuốc lào (Nicotiana rustica) in Vietnam has been for a long time. A certain percentage of men in countryside and city still smoke Thuốc lào.
Thuốc lào plants are planted in Northern Delta to central part of Vietnam. The popular areas for Thuốc lào are Hai Phong and Thanh Hóa provinces. Traditionally besides chewing betel plant and areca nut, Thuốc lào was also invited when guests arrived.
