Once Ly Cong Uan saw a golden dragon emerging from the Red river.Interpreting this fact as a good omen so he change the old name of Dai La into Thang Long or Ascending Dragon.
Through dynasties of Ly, Tran, and Le, Thang Long developed into a healthy capital with hundred places, royal residences, pagodas and temples. The first University of the country was founded in 1076 to train talented scholars to become the leaders for the nation.
Today, Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam with over 8 million people. Besides join the era of international relation and modernization Hanoi still remain it’s owned attractions, and stay number one for tourist destination in Vietnam.
